21C/1 Season Report
New club new faces, in our 1st training session we all set a goal and that was to play finals football. And lo and behold, we achieved this, which was a sensational effort due to us struggling with player availability all year long, despite beginning the season being stacked with 17 keen players. Unfortunately we lost some players such as military man Kai Walker and Fin “Injury Prone” McMahon prior to the start of the season. Due to this, throughout the campaign we continued with minimal subs, yet managed to scrape through the year to the 3rd place in our typical fashion. Yet there was a core bunch who turned up to training at our beloved Dobel each week. It was a luxury having a half field to train on at such a big club, on whom I applaud for such great planning from the Eagles.
A special thanks to the Engadine Eagles 21c2 side who helped us out with some terrific lads to bolster our ranks so we could fill a side. They were a great help in the grand scheme of things and congrats to them on a great season with an unlucky end, we wouldn’t have made the finals without those hardworking clubmen. To play our final against our fellow Eagles was a pleasure and to put on an entertaining final for the fans was spectacular.
There were some terrific goals, magnificent spirit and at times we played lovely football that was pretty to watch, which I personally love to watch when my boys put it together. It was so rewarding to see the smiles, the comradery and the commitment and I congratulate you all personally.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to coach you.
The best is yet to come, Wolfpack out.
