Presidents Report 2025

Glen Tonna

The 2025 season was another great year for EEFC. Like every season, it had its highs and lows, but overall, it was one we can be proud of.

The year got off to a shaky start with the introduction of a new registration system, which left many scratching their heads—and had our new Registrar, Peter Feehan, questioning some of his life choices. Thankfully, despite this early obstacle, we recorded the highest number of registrations in the club’s history.

Unfortunately, the “Weather Gods” from 2024 returned and again caused havoc, with several rounds washed out and plenty of frustration for our Field Management team. As a club, we are fortunate to have such a dedicated group, along with many volunteers, who worked tirelessly throughout the year to repair and prepare the grounds, ensuring the best possible playing conditions.

The Council’s investment in ground improvements, including new sprinklers and a lighting system, has had some “teething issues.” At times, these caused more pain than benefit, but we hope these problems will be resolved before the 2026 season kicks off.

Our Nursery Squad continued to thrive in 2025, remaining highly popular within the local community and giving young children their first introduction to football.

On the field, EEFC recorded strong results. A massive congratulations goes to all our teams who reached the finals this year:

Semi Finalists: W12A,16C, AL10, W21A, WSF/1
Finalists: 18C/2, 21C/1, 35A, W40B, SWC
Runners Up: 14D/1, 15A, 15C, 18C/1, 18E, 21C/2, 45D
Grand Final Winners: 12C, W13A, 13E, 21B, 35E, 45F

I would like to thank our hard-working committee for 2025, especially Colin Berry and Gavin Knight who have to endure my many phone calls. If you would like to join our committee for next season, we would love to have you.
EEFC appreciates the hard work and support of all staff members at the SSFA, SSRA, Shared Services and the EC.

Till 2026, take care.
