U35D Season Report
Under the tutelage of a new coaching team in 2024, the 35D’s chose to take on the new season with a big squad.
Before the season even kicked off, we knew we’d have a play a large portion without our Spanish Import, Jorge. So, we had build to cover for that loss.
Round 1 started with 18 players, fit-ish and raring to go. We finished with 12 available players, one suspected ACL and a broken leg. Great start.
We battled all year and as the season was drawing to an end, it surprised many of us (the coach in particular) that we were in the hunt for finals, rather than our usual, in the hunt for the wooden spoon.
We needed a win in the last game, as a draw would have been enough to see Bosco through. We scored two cracking goals that game, it could have been more. Bosco didn’t score any, they didn’t even look like scoring at any stage.
Bosco went through with a 1-1 draw. For those not at the game, you should be able to figure it out.
It was a great season with a hell of a lot of laughs… and some genuinely good football at times.
Great season guys. You deserved to be in the finals, but it just wasn’t our day.
Lova yas! Coach
