6A Season Report
What a great season for the boys.
The team was formed at the start of the year with 5 boys mostly strangers to each other – most having their first season. Each week they grew in confidence and developed their knowledge and skills of the game.
It was a successful season result wise with the team winning the majority of their games and each player scoring goals throughout the season. We scored 64 goals – all of which were jubilantly celebrated with hugging, tackling and full field aeroplane runs.
Each of the boys grew into their natural positional game play with a great combination of attackers, midfielders and defenders.
Harry – the youngest on the field most games and always copping his fair share of knocks. A great dribbler of the ball and good shooter.
Jax – Always solid in defence, always up for a chat and a powerful left foot. Took the prize for muddiest player in the wet round we played.
Jett – A natural defender and great reader of the game. Always consistent and giving 100%.
Leo – Super striker with our golden boot of the year. Always able to break free from defenders and speed towards goal.
Wade – Always in there around the ruck, a great dribbler with some fancy footwork. Always first there to celebrate his teammates when there’s a goal.
It was so nice to see these boys develop great friendships and want to hang out with each other outside of soccer.
Thank you to Jo (manager) for keeping us organised and in the right place at the right time.
Thanks to all the parents for showing up each week to training and games and supporting us as coaches trying to teach the boys skills of the game and some structural play.
This season has been a pleasure, and we look forward to doing it all again next year.
