What a wonderful first season of soccer for all of the boys! Despite the delayed start and shortened season all of the boys improved in leaps and bounds throughout the year. Training was always brilliantly attended and a lot of fun, with practise of our kicking, running and scoring goals. On Saturdays the boys developed well and by the end of the year had a good understanding of the rules, positioning and how to work as a team. Best of all, the players, their siblings and the families all got along really well and Saturday mornings was an enjoyable time every week.

A brief note on each member of the team:

Finn “tastic” Buchan – Finntastic was our star dribbler, able to run at full pace with the ball seemingly glued to his super-fast feet. He was also a keen tackler and tough as nails when it came to challenging for the ball.

Connor “riffic” Burnett – Connor loved to run and was a great asset to the team in both attack and defence. Connor’s kicking and dribbling both improved throughout the year and his goal celebrations were a highlight!

Rhys “the Beast” Ellis – a natural born defender, The Beast was feared by opposition teams for his big build and even bigger boot. The Beast was always first in for CovidSafe oranges at half time and would come back even stronger in the second half!

“Fly’n” Ryan Kabir – as strong as an ox with the skills to match, Fly’n Ryan held the middle of the park together for our team. His big kicks always helped us clear the danger and Fly’n Ryan scored our first goal of the year!

Zac “attack” Prescott – the Zac Attack was the veteran of the team and showed the boys the ropes early in the season. Zac Attack’s trademark move, the hand rub followed by charging and kicking the ball, was a crowd favourite and he developed his tackling skills throughout the year as well.

Jed “pack” Titmuss – the Jed Pack used his turbo boosters whenever the ball was near and turned in some great performances throughout the year. He was always great in the early kick off matches and managed to score a goal late in the season which meant every player scored a goal!
