6E Season Report
Well, what a season 2025 was for these little Eagles legends! Lots of fun was had at training and matches and even sometimes we played football. This season felt a little easier with nearly all the boys knowing each other and if they didn’t, it didn’t take long before they all became great mates, which was great to see.
We started the season in D grade which I must admit I thought was going to be tough, but the boys were in the fight in every game. After re-grading we found ourselves in E grade and won most of the games and really started to gel as a team.
I can honestly say every single player improved so much throughout the season and their confidence grew each game which was the most satisfying thing to see from the sideline.
Thanks to all the parents for their help throughout the season, it was greatly appreciated. Training at the pub was a highlight. Special thanks to my right-hand man Lavo for ensuring we were always on the correct field each week at the right time and filling out the cards and running training and match day when I was unavailable.
Here is a little run down of our 2025 6E Eagles:
Casper – Our quiet achiever of the team. Casper was always working hard and had plenty of crisp passes that lead to goals and was always there for that pass when it came and banged them in between the sticks.
Cooper – Compared to last year Coops improved so much and really enjoyed being out there with his mates kicking the ball around. He started using his big frame to his advantage and managed to score his first ever goal then backed it up with another a few weeks later.
Eddie – Mr Giggles. Eddie was our friendly giant who was not always aware of the strength he had. If the opponent was ever in his way they would usually end up on the turf. A future no-nonsense centre back perhaps? Eddie was another big improver on the pitch as the season went on and scored a couple of great goals.
Harri – Losing our big enforcer from last year I did wonder who was going to provide the grunt this year. Then Harri shows up and proves that you don’t need to be the biggest in the team to win those 50/50 tackles, just heart, and Harri’s was the biggest. When he wasn’t holding opposition players back with that trademark arm hold, he was scoring goals from all over the park.
Jacob – The speedster of the team. Once Jacob got going there was no stopping him. A very competitive player who hated to lose which helped him find that little bit extra on the pitch. Jacob has a great boot on him as well which resulted in a few long-range bombs.
Julian – Signed up late to our team and boy oh boy am I glad he did! Without knowing anyone, he fitted straight in with the boys. Julian had great ball control and was able to dribble out of trouble plenty of times and found the back of the net most games.
Leo – aka Mr Enthusiastic, Leo bought so much energy to the team and plenty of laughs which always made training drills fun. When Leo was in the mood, there was no questioning his ability to make the opposition look silly. And he would always be one of the first people to hi-five someone that has scored a goal.
I’ve really enjoyed coaching the boys this year and I hope they all continue their football journey. I know they all represented the mighty Eagles well on and off the pitch.
See you all at pre-season next year for another round of “minions”.
Paul
