This team had a fantastic first season of soccer.  The boys played with the same enthusiasm, smiles and laughs regardless of the result and improved dramatically both individually and as a team throughout the season. They were also absolutely fearless consumers of half time oranges!

As for individually:

Fletcher was a little pocket rocket, reliable both in attack and defence, and had a particularly successful goal-scoring game against Cronulla mid-season (which may have cost his Dad a few dollars).

Henry was a fearless opponent, who bagged lots of goals and chatted and laughed his way through the season.

John was a rock in defence and could be relied upon to zoom towards the goal like a laser beam whenever the opposition were on the attack.

Nate was the team’s most improved player with increased confidence going into tackle as the season progressed.  He could also always be relied upon to know the score, when the manager and coach weren’t keeping track.

Mickey started the season very shy, but once he overcame his nerves, his tremendous pace and fancy footwork outwitted many an opponent and earned him a bucket load of goals.

Rocco was the livewire of the team, there both for the soccer and the social and making both aspects more enjoyable for him and his teammates.
