7C Season Report
The under 7C boys came together as a team for the first time this season.
For some of them it was their first season playing soccer and for others they had played the season before. Despite a season plagued with cancellations due to weather and the various illnesses doing the rounds, the boys played a great season and quickly learned to come together as a team and formed some great friendships.
Each player brought their own unique personality and skill to the game and we had a good balance of attackers, defenders and a few midfielders. Across the board it was a mixed season with some outstanding performances against well stacked teams, and some narrow losses which helped with their resilience and determination to keep trying no matter what.
One memorable game, was the 3-2 victory away to the Cronulla Seagulls. We were down to only 4 players for the game against the much fancied and well drilled Seagulls. However the boys produced their best game of the season to come back from two nil down to win the game, at the amazement of both sets of supporters.
Heath plays a great game, persistent and never wanting to shy away from a tackle with the opposition.
Charlie played as a no-nonsense midfielder, great goal scorer, and last ditch tackler.
Archie was our creative outlet, a master of skill and trickery and also a persistent player always willing to keep trying no matter what.
Will was our strongest defender, a great reader of the game and team player.
Brodie was our pivotal defender, no-nonsense kicker, enjoyed the banter and was always enthusiastic.
Sonny was our speedy winger, great dribbler and passer of the ball. Along with Will, probably our most improved player for the season.
Overall, a great season, lots of fun, friendships formed and some great performances on the pitch.
