U8G Season Report
2024! The season of rainy weekends and field closures. Needless to say, whenever we were able to get on the field, we had 10 extremely excited boys on our hands!
With a combination of increasing to a larger playing field, more players on the pitch and a very weather dependent season, it took some time for the kids to find their feet (pun intended) and settle in. We didn’t get many wins under our belt this season, but this was by no means a reflection of the effort and improvement the team made.
We learnt how important it is to play as a team, to look for our teammates and pass the ball to make plays, and that although everyone would like to be the goalie, there can only be one!
Grounding down on the fundamentals of the game and teaching the kids to be good sports, win or lose, was a huge aspect of the coaching and learning this season and we hope this sets them up for an even better season next year. Congratulations to the boys, we hope they are all as proud of themselves as their coaches and parents are of them. Well done guys!
Also, a special thank you to our families this year for always being there rain, hail or shine to encourage the boys and to enjoy some laughs along the way. It takes a village, so thank you!
