Engadine Eagles Under 8 i1 – Season Champions Report
Coach: Salad (aka Jarrod) | Manager: Lauren
To Our Amazing Little Champions! ⚽
WOW! What a season we’ve had together, superstars!
With only ONE loss and ONE draw all season, you were absolutely, totally, completely the BEST team out there! You weren’t just champions because you barely lost any games. You were champions because you were the most fun, most awesome bunch of footballers I’ve ever coached!
The best part? Watching you grow into confident, kind, amazing players who never gave up and always had each other’s backs.
I am very grateful to you and your parents for a rewarding season. It is my personal highlight of the week to watch the boys train, play, laugh and have a great time.
THANK YOU for being the most fantastic team ever! Thank you for your laughter, your teamwork, your high-fives, and your huge hearts.
A massive THANK YOU to Manager Lozz for keeping us all organized and making sure we had everything we needed (especially those post-game snacks!).
A thank you to Ryan for running the subs and keeping everything flowing smoothly on game days.
And the BIGGEST thank you to all our wonderful parents! Thank you for cheering from the sidelines, bringing half-time fruit, and being our loudest supporters. Thank you for helping during training and keeping the boys entertained with those epic Parents vs Kids practice games – you made every session special and every game feel like a celebration!
Keep kicking, keep laughing, keep being brilliant!
See you all back for 2026!
Your very proud coach 🏆

Final Record: 13 Wins, 1 Loss, 1 Draw, 2 Washouts/Forfeits
Goals For: 73
Goals Against: 23
Clean Sheets: 8
The Season’s Superstar – Dylan M
Dylan M dominated with 21 goals while establishing himself as the team’s defensive anchor. His 4 clean sheets led the team, including crucial saves in Round 11 where he made “a great keeper save” against quality opposition Menai. From the opening day 4-1 win over Bosco to his heroic 4-goal performance in the season’s only defeat, Dylan M exemplified leadership at both ends.
The Hat-Trick Master – Diddy
Diddy’s 13 goals included spectacular hat-tricks in the 8-1 demolition of Heathcote and the 8-2 thrashing of Bosco. His defensive intelligence shone through 2 clean sheets and smart positioning, highlighted by his proactive goalkeeping when “coming out of the box to clear a breakaway” in Round 11. Diddy’s ability to deliver in the biggest moments made him indispensable.
The Explosive Finisher – Raife
Raife’s 13 goals were highlighted by the season’s most memorable individual performance – a breathtaking 5-goal masterclass in Round 7’s 9-0 victory over Eagles i2. His defensive contributions included 1 clean sheet and consistent work rate, with match reports noting him “dribbling through opponents left and right” in crucial victories. Raife’s game-changing ability made every match exciting.
The Clutch Performer – Henry
Henry’s 9 goals peaked with an unstoppable 5-goal barrage in Round 12’s 7-3 win over Heathcote. Between the posts, his 2 clean sheets included a solo goalkeeping performance in Round 4 where he was “so comfortable, he was able to chill out” during the 6-0 victory over Lilli Pilli – a moment that perfectly captured his composed brilliance.
The Versatile Warrior – Lachie
Lachie’s 8 goals were perfectly distributed across the season, culminating in a stirring hat-trick finale against Georges River. His 3 goalkeeper appearances showcased his team-first mentality, while his assist work included the season’s most memorable moment – a “premier league worthy” tap-in from Diddy’s corner kick in Round 4.
The Opportunist – Aidan
Aidan’s 4 goals included crucial strikes in early victories, while his defensive contributions (2 goalkeeper appearances) helped establish the team’s solid foundation. His “great defending and positioning” in Round 2 set the tone for the season, and his long-range passing brilliance was on full display with “an awesome long range pass straight to Henry to finish cleanly” in Round 11.
The Ultimate Team Player – Archer
While Archer didn’t score, his impact was immeasurable. With 3 clean sheets from 4 goalkeeper appearances, he provided defensive stability when needed most. His “good tackles” and midfield work in games like Round 2 and Round 12 (where he was “holding the midfield and getting a couple of good tackles and passes”) exemplified selfless play that allowed teammates to flourish.
The Reliable Contributor – Logan
Logan’s 4 goals included vital strikes in the season’s biggest victories. His defensive highlight came in the dramatic Round 1 replay where he “was great in goals and stopped many attempts” during the crucial 3-2 win over Barden Ridge. His fearless approach was captured perfectly in Round 11 when he was noted for “taking on the biggest opponent with no fear.”
The Moment Master – Quade
Quade’s single goal came at the perfect time – contributing to Round 7’s spectacular 9-0 demolition. His 4 goalkeeper appearances showcased remarkable shot-stopping ability, particularly in Round 12 where he “stopped several going in—especially the one off the post to the other post but not fully across the line.” His tactical awareness and positioning earned him 1 well-deserved clean sheet.
Collective Excellence
This Eagles squad redefined team football. From “good tackles by Archer and Quade” in early games to “Lachie and Raife dribbling through opponents left and right” in crucial victories, every player embraced their role. The team’s adaptability shone through challenges like late withdrawals in Round 11, where they started with just 4 players but still delivered an 8-2 victory.
Character Under Pressure
When faced with adversity – referee no-shows, player injuries, or quality opposition – the Eagles responded with character. Whether it was accommodating short-handed opponents in Round 12 or bouncing back from their only defeat with a determined 0-0 draw, this team showed that true champions are defined by how they handle challenges, not just how they celebrate victories.
The Perfect Season Formula
73 goals, 8 clean sheets, and 9 players who understood that individual brilliance serves team success. Every Eagle contributed to this unforgettable campaign, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
