U9A Season Report
Despite the weather causing havoc with both the training and weekend schedule this season it was great to see the boys turn up each week and give it their all. It was hard for them to create momentum with some long breaks between games, yet they still showed tremendous improvement across the park. We farewelled a few boys from last season who moved on to reps but with that came some new faces in the team. The boys again showed their sportsmanship by joining together and forging some great friendships along the way.
There were some standout performances this year both individually and as a team. We showed that we could match it with the top teams and held our own in some tightly contested matches. It was great to watch and the spirit in which the boys played each week made us all proud to be parents/grandparents etc.
Big thanks to all the families who turned up each week to cheer the team on, supply the oranges and other halftime/full time sustenance, helped out with ground duty and supported Gav at training and on the game days. It takes a community to run a team and your support was invaluable.
Already looking forward to next season and let’s hope it’s one with some better weather!
Cheers
Gav and Dan
