9H-2 Season Report
What a year!!! From a season which didn’t look like happening to a revised year so the kids could get out and play a game of soccer on a Saturday. This season was enjoyable for all, with the kids growing as a team and improving their individual skills. The goal for this season was to learn about playing positions and further develop their passing game. From the start, you could see they were putting the team first by playing a variety of positions and even all jumping into goals to help out from time to time.
The way our team grew this year was a credit to the work put into training by all the parents. On game day, the team was a well-oiled machine. All the boys would do their bit for the team, with solid defence from Cooper, good vision from Spencer to push the ball forward. Then we would get the ball to the likes of Emmett with his hard work and ball control, Ben with his thunder foot, Archie with his fancy footwork, Will with his speed on the wings and Riley with his determination to make the ball his. These guys would get us going goalward where Liam was waiting with his position awareness in the right spot all the time, Cody, with his ball skill and Jasper with his finishing. This overall teamwork would get us a lot of goals this season.
I would like to thank all the players and parents, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. We didn’t just play soccer on the weekend but built memories during our Parent vs Players games at training sessions. Also, a huge thank you goes out to Emma for all her work organising this team, having us all there ready to go on a Saturday.
Now we look to the future and moving up to the bigger field in under 10’s next year. I would love to see you all next season, to keep working on what we have achieved together over the past few seasons.
Till 2021,
Adam
