SWE Season Report
Well, thats a wrap for 2024! And what a season it was
I wanted to say how proud i am of every one of you , and what a privilege it has been to coach you all this season.
We finished 4th on the ladder. We won the First Semi final , then the Prelim Final to advance to the Grand Final
When i look back over the season , we have had some amazing games.
Yes we lost the last game the Gf , but we don’t measure our success this season based on one game
Winning is not measured by the color of the medal , its measured on how we view ourselves and how the people that matter in our lives measure us.
Having our friends, families and partners there today cheering us on…………….thats winning!!
SWE2 is not the 15 girls who take the field each week, its more than that
It’s the kids who get woken up at 7am, told to get out of bed when its 6 degrees and come along to cheer mum on
It’s the parents who turn up just like they did some 30 years ago to sheer on their daughters with as much enthusiasm as they did at their very first game in under 6’s
The same parents that look after sick grandkids on a Sunday allowing the players to still play
It’s ex players who turn up each week that understand their talks and encouragement from off the field is as important as what they did on the field
Its older kids who have helped their mums rehabilitation, ensuring they get back on the field as soon as they can
It’s the Husbands, Partners and boyfriends who turn up week in week out, rain hail, wind or the occasional nice day, travelling around the shire with their words of support and cheering from the sideline
Those same people who celebrate wins and console after losses , helping bruised bodies and bruised egos. Ensuring the players are ready to back up the following week
And, it’s the players who although have multiple kids, commitments, highly stressed jobs both mentally and physically , but turn up for training each week and turn up for games
This is the Eagles SWE2 !
Bring on 2025
