W11A Season Report
W11A Report
Belvah – WOW – what a fantastic addition to the W11A’s. You slotted into the team with ease. You are a very laid back customer in training but when you get to game time, different story. You are such a competitor on the field. You read the game and play accordingly. You are so hungry to get the ball from the opposition or even before they look like getting it. Such a solid player. Like I will say to all of the girls – keep practicing your skills during the off season. It was a pleasure to be your coach and I really hope to see you next season. Trent xo.
Jade – Jadey, I saw you grow with confidence as the year went on. Your footwork and skills with the ball progressed beautifully, which was fantastic to see. Taking on players down the left flank and cutting balls back to the top of the box was exactly what we practiced at training. You played a few different positions which is fantastic to be able to do. I definitely saw you super comfortable on that left wing. It’s the happiest season that I have seen you have, constantly smiling, especially after knocking goals in too. Keep practicing, as I know you will. Trent xo.
Jaz – I had a great season coaching you. From the start to the end of the season, I have seen you grow in confidence. Starting the season off a little tentative and shy about how you play, not wanting to try different positions on the field and just stick to your comfort zone. You sure did kill that right back position and dominated there all season. Being a fullback doesn’t always get the credit you deserve when the team is scoring but it is an extremely important position – you stopped the opposition from getting to our goals. I have a great memory of you winning the ball at right back at Seagulls, you put an incredible ball through to MG at right wing, she then drove to goal, cut it back and Jade banged it into the net. That goal all started from you and made me super happy to have such a solid and reliable defender. Well done Jaz! Trent xo.
Lilah – What a bubbly and enthusiastic young lady you are. You are a person that is thirsty for knowledge and listens intently to instructions. Anything that I ask you to do, you would put 100% effort into trying to get it right, especially at training. You would practice and practice until you thought you got it right, then asking me many times, “Trent, is this right?” It was fantastic to see you score some great goals, especially when asking you to snap a shot off quickly which worked perfectly for you on many occasions, a season tally of 11 goals is amazing! You always lifted the team with your smiles and kindness. It was an absolute pleasure to coach you this year. I look forward to seeing you next season. Trent xo.
Dylan – From the beginning of the season, I could see you having plenty of confidence in yourself and around others. But I did see you lacking a little confidence in yourself on the field. Having me moving you around into different positions probably didn’t help. As the season went on, you grew more and more as a player, focusing and hungry for the ball, especially seen against Bangor. I’ve never seen you so focused and determined. Bring that on every week. By the way, you scored a cracking goal that day too! Next year, we have to learn to tie your boots up tight and maybe tape your laces too! Haha. Keep going, keep practicing and keep focused. Thanks for a great season. Trent xo.
Sienna – Never have I seen someone so dedicated to soccer as you. I see you live and breathe football. It’s in your blood. It’s been a pleasure coaching you and getting to know you this season. I know you work very hard on your skills, you constantly work hard for yourself and most importantly the team. I have seen some fantastic football from you this year. Smashing 14 goals into the back of the net and I’m sure you remember every one of them. It is really easy to coach someone that wants to learn and better themselves as a person and a player. Thanks again and I hope to see you again next season. Trent xo.
Asia – I know it was a bit difficult having your Dad as a coach this year, but I think you handled it very well. You started off the season with a flurry of goals. I loved watching you run with the ball, beating players but what I loved the best was your vision with the ball – switching play to the opposite side of the field and laying a ball off to someone who was in a better position. This shows great teamwork and unselfishness. Well done. Bagging 20 goals for the season was fantastic. Here’s hoping there’s many more years for you hitting the back of the net for Eagles. Love Dad xo
Ily – From the first training session I thought, “Here we go, I have got a live one here”. One hundred percent true. You are a live wire, full of energy and definitely kept me on my toes. It was great to see you having fun at training and games. You definitely have a competitive streak in you. You throw your whole heart and body into the game. When you focus there is no stopping you. I loved it when I gave you instructions when you were playing and sure enough the next time you got the ball, you did exactly what I asked of you. Thank you for listening and taking instructions onboard. You are one of a kind. I really enjoyed training you this year and I hope you continue to practice your skills in the off season. Trent xo.
Nola – What a fantastic year you had. Seeing you come into the team this year and then excel has been magic to watch. You took to the left back position like a glove. You were so determined to compete for the ball and stop their attackers in their tracks. It was amazing to see. You became so confident in yourself that you would beat the opposition every time down the line. It made me smile each time you did it. You even got a trick named after you too, which everyone knew as ‘The Nolsie’! Thank you for all of your hard work this season. It has been a pleasure to coach you and I look forward to next season. Trent xo.
Lilly – Coming up into a new team and A grade can be a daunting thing. I see a lot of potential in you. If you just believe in yourself and throw caution to the wind. I believe you could turn into a quality player. At training you were so hungry for the ball. You defended and attacked the ball well. I saw your dribbling and skill improve throughout the year. Come game day, you seem to go into your shell. If you can overcome that shyness and show us what you can do at training on game day, you will be a better player for it. Remember to back yourself because I know it’s in you. Keep going and get hungry for the ball. Trent xo.
MG – I hope you don’t mind the nickname MG, cause that’s all I know you as now! To start the season you were a bit shy and uncertain of this new coach guy. But that changed very quickly! Can talk haha. You did take a little time to find your groove and confidence but when that confidence arrived, it came in spades. I watched you grow as a person and a player which was fantastic to see. You put so much effort in when you play that you start making funny noises showing that you are concentrating with everything you have. It’s funny because your Dad does the same thing on the sideline when you’re deep in the contest with the opposition. Classic. Thank you for playing in many different positions this year. I know it’s not easy. Keep working in the off season with the skills and driving with the ball at pace. Thanks again for the year MG. Trent xo.
Mila – Great to have you in the team this year. You started the season off a bit slow but grew 10 fold by the back end of the season. The last 3 games of the year, I saw a player that I only saw glimpses of in the first half of the season. Those games at the back end of the season saw you tease the opposition with your skills and running the ball down the sideline and cutting balls into the centre for us to score plenty of goals. I saw more focus at training than ever. You then brought this to game day. This was very evident against Bangor. It was like you had the ball on a string. I would love to see you push yourself harder to improve on your skills and hunger for the game in the off season. Thanks for a great season and no cartwheels as well. Love it. Trent xo.
Thank you to Sarah for managing us this year. It has been a fantastic support for me so that I could concentrate on training the girls. You have kept us all organised and on time.
Thank you to all of our wonderful supporters – parents, grandparents, siblings and friends – for supporting the girls each week, cheering them on on the sidelines, getting them to training and games and everything else that you do to support your girls. Well done to you all, you are ALL superheroes.
Thank you for supporting me to be their coach this year. I have loved every moment of it. I really have. It’s been great to get to know all of the girls this year, their personalities and unique traits and watch them all develop and grow as individuals and as a fantastic little team. I have loved doing training sessions and then watching the girls go out on the weekend and do exactly what we had practiced. I am very proud of every single player in this team. I hope they have all learned plenty during this season because I know I also learned a lot from them. Thanks again for a fantastic season and I look forward to 2024! Bring on the full field and competition in the W12A’s!
Coach xo
