W12B Season Report
The 2020 season began as a very different season to any other and we were not sure we would have a season at all. Fortunately we were able to have a season even of it was shortened and with a later start.
This year being the first for the girls to play competition and on a full field was always going to be challenging. However each of the girls showed they were up to the task and improved with each game.
Charlotte – really found her strength this year playing defensive mid field. Such an important position and Charlotte played outstanding each game
Arianne – our new goalie, improved every game and grew in confidence as the season progressed.
This position is one of the most difficult on the field and Arianne played so well each game.
Isabelle – up front as striker this year, Izzy always attacked the ball and had little fear. Always looking for the ball and great to see her skills improve so much throughout the season.
Olivia – out wide on the wing, Olivia excelled with the extra space on the full field this year – always so keen to get on the field and always played 100% every game.
Mikayla – up front on most games, Mikayla had so much speed and left most opponents well behind. Great to see Mikayla enjoy each game and so close to scoring a goal in many games. Mikayla was one of the most improved players. Congratulations Mikayla.
Gemma – Gemma improved so much through the season as she gained more and more confidence. Strongest position for Gemma was on the wing and it was great to see her grow as a player as the season went on.
Zoe – was a real power house and played outstanding in any position. Strongest positions were on the wing or midfield. A real natural attacking player and so strong on the ball.
Sarah – as always, our anchor as sweeper. Solid in the back line and directed play from this position very well each game. Sarah had an outstanding season on the full pitch this year.
Abbey – Ever present & alert in defence. Saved so many off the line & very few balls got past Abbey this year. Outstanding performance and commitment.
Jerry – Jerry as always was strong in the central midfield holding play there so well. So good to see Jerry grow in skill and her ability to read the game this year.
Pricilla – Pricilla did so well playing the central midfield position as well as playing up front from time to time. A great all round player with the skill & ability to read the game so well.
Jessica – Jessica really came into her own this year & it was great to see such an improvement in skill throughout the season. Jessica seemed to really grow in confidence in the second half of the season progressively became a stronger player each game.
Talia – Talia had so much energy and commitment every game. Talia’s focus and determination, make her such a great and valuable player.
Sienna – as always, Sienna never stopped running and seeking the ball every game. Always looking for the ball and focused on scoring a goal. Great season Sienna and great to watch you play each game with such passion.
Ellen – so solid in defence, very few players were able to get past Ellen this year. Ellen is another player who really grew in skill and ability to read the game this year.
Kaycee – Kaycee is such a great all-rounder. Kaycee performed well in goals as well as on the field. Kaycee was one of our most improved players this year and it was so great to watch Kaycee improve in her game each week.
To the parents – You should all be so proud of your girls this year and I would also like to thank each of the parents for your support with each of the girls this year. Bringing them to training each week as well as supporting them on the sideline each weekend.
A huge thank you to our manager Alison also this year. Thank you for all your organisation and all the work you did for the team. Being a manager is such a vital role for any team and Alison did it so well.
It was a great season and what a great team of girls. You should all be so proud and I really hope to see you all again next year
