W14C Season Report
We started with a mix of players from previous years & some new faces joining the squad. It’s hard to believe some of the girls hadn’t experienced a win in a couple of seasons. With the right attitude & the will to play for each other got the girls their 1st win in the 2nd game of the season. From there the girls had more than their fair share of wins finishing a shorten season with 5 wins, 3 draws & 3 losses. It’s a shame the season finished early with only 2 teams getting the better of the girls during the regular season we were very confident being able to do something in the semi-finals given the chance.
Players:
Briana – Great attitude for her chosen position of team Goalie, Hopefully Briana keeps at it as she showed awesome improvement & is a natural. Keep it up Briana.
Tyra – Tyra had a great year playing Left back, Tyra is a natural left footer with a great clearing kick. Not afraid to mix it up with her opponent. Good year Tyra.
Kiara – Kiara was the backbone of the team at Sweeper, fantastic team first attitude & was our leader at the back. Always trained well & played hard.
Tilly – New to the team Tilly had no problem fitting in, Tilly kept the team busy with constant chatter & progressed very well with her position at Right back. Great 1st year with the Eagles.
Madi – Ever reliable, the improvement Madi showed from the start of the season was great. Not afraid to mix it with the opposition. Great job Madi.
Tabitha – Also 1st time Eagle, Tabitha started very quiet but improved very well as the season went on, great team player & a pleasure to coach.
Skye – Our Captain for the 2nd half of the year, Skye never lets anyone down, from her enormous throws & huge kicks, scoring a few long-range goals as a reward for her team efforts.
Jayde – Jade showed good improvement playing mainly midfield, has a great kick when needed, good job Jade.
Taylor – Taylor was captain for 1st half of season, Taylor has a great competitive attitude & will play anywhere the team needs her & excels wherever she is needed. Has a fantastic long kick & scored a goal or 2 as a result.
Jasmine L – Jas is one player that can play anywhere & be good at it, scored our teams 1st goal of the year for a 1 nil victory. Jas showed so much improvement & is a pleasure to coach.
Jamilla – 1st time Eagle, Jamilla was very unlucky not to get a few goals this season, played very well up front & also showed great improvement during the season.
Lola – Finally rewarded with a goal for all her efforts, unlucky not to get a few more. Played well up front & showed good improvement as the season went on.
Keike – Keike has plenty of speed & a booming right foot, scored a few goals up front, always 1st to training & has a great attitude. Another great season.
Jasmine C – Jaz mainly played at the front but would play wherever she was needed as she was another that was very versatile. Scored a few & always dangerous when attacking.
Was a pleasure to be part of the team this year.
Special thanks to Taylor Duffy for running the girls on game day & assisting with training drills during the week.
