W18A Season Report

Well, what another great year you girls had in 2024.

Winning the 2023 B grade competition meant the next step was A grade. Even though it was a small comp, the teams were all very tight and competitive, and once again, you all stepped up kept improving.

Finishing the year equal first, with the best defence record in comp, and second most goals, is an awesome achievement as a team, and which leads to playing finals games two years in a row.

Our semi, well ……wasn’t the best we played all year, so let’s not talk about that game. We then had the final to play to advance to the GF. Wow, what a different game that was, pretty sure Menai hoped we’d play like the previous week, but you ladies never play 2 bad games in a row, and showed you definitely wanted it more, so we got back into the winner’s circle and moved onto the GF once again.

Although we didn’t get the gold this year, we gave it a red-hot go, and the game was very entertaining. Once again, we score early and It took a very late goal to take it to extra time, and then they jagged a winner.

All good, we bounce back next season and aim for finals once again. You are all awesome ladies.

Defence: Bill in the sticks, always solid, and helping her look awesome, and for most of the year we had Sam, Chloe, Caity, Sofia, keeping Bills job to a minimum. Best defence in the competition. Not big in statue, but big in never die attitude to chase down their players.

Midfield: Tilly, Stephanie, Eve, Lai, Amelie, Tyla, Dicky, the running heart of the game, up and back, always a tough gig. The passing game and goals that came through the middle was awesome to watch.

Forwards: Bree, Emily, Molly, always pushing to go forward, creating, and scoring some cracking goals. Running down opposition defence, never giving up is what it’s all about.

By the time the snr presentation happens, you ladies have made it to the semi-finals of the Champion of Champion, an awesome effort , we wish you well and will Endeavor to take you further as coaches. You got this.
