What an incredible season to be a part of such a special team! In a season where we only suffered one loss, the team managed to achieve not only finishing as minor premiers but most importantly, premiers.
Each member of the team gave their all and played for the benefit of the team, not for any individual achievement. I know all of us thoroughly enjoyed playing this season, even if it was very stop/start, but we managed to get a roll on at the right time of the year.

To our impenetrable backline – Ange, Tracy, Jen, Narelle and Dayna – your defensive efforts this season went unmatched and allowed us to have a strong and unrivalled record. We only conceded 13 goals for the entire season, and an absolute credit to you all and the stellar defensive effort you displayed.

With the hardest jobs on the field, our mid-field worked tirelessly every game. To Cherie, Maria, Donna, Belinda, Bron, Cathy, Leah and Jeanine – you were all incredible this year in managing both attack and defence. There was no other team that could match you for effort, skill and determination. It was a pleasure to watch you all move the ball and set up some amazing plays.

This year was the first season we played with no fulltime goalie. It was not a turn that most of us looked forward to, and I think we all have a new appreciation for just how hard the position is to play and to do it justice. A special thank you to Deb, who stepped up and with her experienced Keeping and cool demeanour, ensured we were able to achieve what we did in the finals and grand final.

This season we had an incredible range of players who could mount a successful attack and finish goals well. To the forwards, what a season and again an unmatched number of goals across the competition. A huge 63 goals were scored in total, with a significant number coming from the forward team of Renee, Deb, Zoe and Megan. The next closest team was more than 30 goals behind us.

A special thank you to some important people who made our season so successful. To Belinda Sheehy, our manager, thank you for all of the hours and organising you have done to ensure we are well prepared and coordinated. To Layla, our little assistant coach and manager, thank you for being our number one supporter and organiser! To Gavin Knight, stepping in to help us throughout the season as coach, and most importantly right through our finals, we genuinely appreciate your time and patience – well done on keeping a clean sheet! Thank you to all our friends and family who supported us throughout the season.

Congratulations ladies on a phenomenal season, in which everyone played for the team. Everyone should be very proud. The outcome speaks for itself and being named premiers is a very special achievement.

Our season and grand final win were very much dedicated to the memory of our friend and teammate, Karen Shales, who sadly cheers us on from above and who we know would be enjoying the champagne alongside us to celebrate our season.

Well done team, I know we have loved playing this season but more so we have loved the time we spend together and the good times we share.
