W6B Season Report
Rounds played: 16
Won: 10 Lost: 4
Drew: 2
Goals scored: 79
Goals received: 38
Finally a soccer season that’s not interrupted by germs or weather ! But 6 out of our 7 Players wouldn’t know any different since it’s been their first year of competitive soccer.
Starting with so many Eaglets ( Eaglet = young Eagle from days after hatching up to the period before the first game…I mean FLIGHT! 🙂 ) , it’s quite remarkable that the girls got regraded from W06C to W06B after game 6, since our goal tally was 42 goals scored / 6 received.
Once in B grade, we had a few more challenging games though with close wins and losses, which were necessary for character building.
All girls displayed plenty of enthusiasm both at training and on game days. Special thanks to the parents for supporting all team members week-in and week-out often in freezing temperatures.
And let’s not forget, none of this fun would’ve happened without our dedicated Coach, Brad Macarthur and his beautiful daughter Amelia. Both showed a patience that no other parent in our team could’ve shown… On the pitch every single Monday and Saturday, without fail, they got the girls motivated.
OUR PLAYERS:
Adele Shrestha Macarthur
Adele’s love for soccer must stem from her family. If she told me she had secretly trained with her sisters team W13C’s, it seriously wouldn’t surprise me. Adele is an all-rounder. While her defence skills have always been rock solid, she developed a superb knowledge of the game which saw her take on the whole field, with a few great goals being scored! Way to go, Adele!
Edie Fitz-Gibbon
Edie’s bubbly personality shines through at every training and game. Always keen and with a big smile, she isn’t afraid of taller opponents and gets right in there. Being our youngest Player at 4,5 years old at the start of the season, Edie gains more and more confidence and skill each week. We love watching her grow, good job, Edie!
Indiana Palmervale
Indiana is a great addition to the Eagles W06B team and she makes sure to bring her ‘A-game’ each week. Indi is a fast runner which sees her win almost every 1 on 1 challenge. I’m sure its a skill she has learned early on in life, having 2 older brothers who also play soccer. With this skill she finds the back of the net quite often, too. Fantastic first season, Indi!
Isabelle Okacha
Izzy is an Eagles OG. She has played in the Eagles nursery squad last year, where she has learned all the basics. And soccer runs in her family with dad also being an active player. Isabelle impressed everyone in our first game by casually scoring 5 goals. Always happy and a bit cheeky, she is a great teammate and friend to all the girls. Awesome work, Izzy!
Lara Percy
Lara went from strength to strength – look out next year! Very goal hungry, Lara knows exactly where to position herself to have the best shot at target. And she can deliver! With her fast boots and strong kicks, she makes sure to show off her amazing skills, not only scoring a number of goals but also setting her teammates up to score. Top performance, Lara!
Olivia Bryant
After playing for a mixed Bundeena team last year, Olivia joined the Eagles this year in the all girls comp. Always encouraging her teammates on and off the field, she brings tons of fun to the games. Her quick thinking and amazing dribbling skills enable Livie to outsmart her opponents. She also proves to be a real team player with clever passes. Keep it up, Livie!
Zahli Hartigan
Zahli was a late signing added to our team a couple of weeks after grading day. How lucky were we! Always hungry for the ball, Zahli will often turn defence into attack quickly with clever passing, leaving the opposing team behind. She always makes the right choice in positioning herself on the field as well as getting right into the pack to win the ball. Great work, Zahli!
I have thoroughly enjoyed managing W06B, thank you to each and every one of you girls and parents for always giving it your all!
