The girls had a great season and kept improving every game. We were promoted from the 8C’s to 8B’s and still won the majority of games in the B’s. All the girls listened and started to play some positions as the season went on and we are starting to see who is suited to the various positions on the field.

Individually each player contributed in their own ways as detailed below:

Mikayla Benikos: Kept us entertained with her goalkeeping but improved as the year went and loves playing at the back stopping the goals.

Indy Duesing: Loves to play and tried hard all year. Indy loves playing striker and scoring goals.

Beatrix Gibara: Bertie was great to coach and always has a smile on her face. Bertie formed a great defensive partnership with Mikayla as the year progressed.

Annabelle Gibson: Anabelle was great in either midfield or striker and scored some great goals during the year. Another one who always tried hard and made it easy to coach.

Briar Hodge: We didn’t have Briar for the whole season but when she was there, she tried hard and always took the straight line through the other team to goals.

Georgia Iacono:  Never stops all game and chases everything. Scored some fantastic goals during the season especially the last kick of the season to score and get a draw in the last seconds.

Layla Iacono: Layla played above her age and didn’t look out of place except for her height. Was great in the midfield or in defence and never stopped trying.

Annaliese Nightingale: Always has a smile on her face and listens to the coaches and managers. Great dribbling skills and developing a big kick with left or right foot.

Edith Van Den Burg: Edie is starting to get more confident, and it is showing in her play. Fitted into whatever position we needed and tried hard all year.

As I said we had a great season, and it was very enjoyable watching the girls each week and seeing their happy faces whether we won or lost. Thanks to Anna for managing and all the other parents, grandparents and other friends and relatives for supporting the girls each week. Look forward to seeing everyone next year and in summer soccer.
