W9A Season Report
Played: 15, Won 7, Lost 6, Drew 2
The W9A Eagles wrapped up the season with 7 wins, 6 losses, and 2 draws, but the real highlight was how the squad came together. New signings injected fresh energy, experienced players provided steady leadership, and together they formed a tight-knit unit on and off the pitch. They combined rock-solid defence, sharp attacking play, and moments of brilliance that kept our record-breaking crowds — made up of parents, siblings, and the occasional curious dog — on the edge of their seats. With great coaching, smooth organisation, and unwavering sideline support, the Eagles finished the season not just as a team, but as a family, ready for even bigger things next year.
Player Profiles
Noa “The Wall” Brown – Built from equal parts grit and speed, Noa was a defensive powerhouse this season. Always drawn to the backline like a magnet to steel, she shut down attacks with calm authority, before bursting up the wing in lightning-fast runs that left opponents eating her dust. Her combination of cool composure and fearless tackles made her every striker’s worst nightmare.
Indy “Deadline Deal” Duesing – A shrewd last-minute signing, secured just hours before the transfer window slammed shut, Indy slotted into the squad like she’d been there all along. With a tireless work ethic and a grin that could power a stadium, she brought instant energy to the team. Her blistering dribbles at full tilt kept defenders guessing, while her fearless appearances in goal proved she’s just as dangerous with gloves on as she is with the ball at her feet
Georgia “Turbo” Iacono – Arriving in a blockbuster double signing with her younger sister, Georgia wasted no time announcing herself as a prodigious talent with the world at her feet. Blessed with turbo-charged pace and raw power, she terrorised defences and topped the team’s goal-scoring charts. A tireless box-to-box engine who seemed to run on an endless battery, Georgia was everywhere at once—scoring, defending, and doing everything in between at full throttle.
Layla “Magic Boots” Iacono – Part of the record-breaking sister signing, Layla brought instant flair and fire to the squad. Her dazzling footwork and silky skills made the ball look glued to her boots, and while small in stature, she truly embodies the saying ‘it’s not the size of the dog in the fight; it’s the size of the fight in the dog’ – never retreating from a challenge. Living, breathing, and quite possibly dreaming in football boots, she was comfortable in every position, making her a true all-rounder and a constant threat on the pitch.
Frankie “Prime Time” McKenna – One of the season’s biggest improvers, Frankie grew into a dependable force in both attack and defence. Always ready to rise to the occasion, she delivered her finest moment with a stunning goal to snatch a crucial point from league leaders Miranda—a true highlight in a breakout season. Her confidence and composure under pressure proved she’s a player built for the big moments.
Molly “The Spark” McKenna – With her bright energy and contagious smile, Molly dazzled the field with smooth dribbling and spot-on passes that sparked numerous scoring opportunities. She wasn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves in defence either, shutting down opponents with fearless resolve. Her passion and determination made her a driving force, inspiring teammates to bring their best every match
Katherine “The Fortress” Nanitsos – Our rock-solid defender, Katherine was like a fortress—strong and standing tall against every attack. Armed with a thunderous long throw that launched countless counterattacks, her height made her a commanding presence in the air, dominating headers left and right. Mostly playing at the back, she surprised everyone by unleashing a blistering strike (worthy of Sam Kerr) to net her first official club goal. A true star in the making, Katherine’s impact on the team was impossible to measure.
Scarlett “Twinkle Toes” Perkovic – A cornerstone of the team and a natural leader, Scarlett led by example with her dazzling footwork and speed that left opponents spellbound. Always a constant attacking threat, she found the back of the net several times this season that had the Eagles fans on their feet. Having just signed a monster deal with the Bankstown Lions, we wish her all the best in her new adventure and thank her for her incredible contributions to the Eagles family.
Everly “Viper” Sankey – A foundation player known for her relentless hustle and sharp instincts, Everly struck fear into defenders with her fast runs and stunning goals that left fans buzzing. Always eager to lead the press, she hounded opponents tirelessly. When called upon to guard the net, she showed fearless reflexes—no surprise given her mum’s a former notable goalkeeper. Her passion and skill on both ends of the pitch made her a player the whole team could count on.
Lena “The Commander” Shields – With calm confidence and expert control, Lena is at home in both midfield and defence. Her pinpoint passing sets the tone, while her fearless attacking raids and powerful long-range shots keep opponents on high alert. Always composed under pressure, she motivates her teammates to stay focused and play their best every game.
