W9B Season Report
A great season from all girls who had fun whenever they were together. They tried hard gave 100% in every game they played even though It was a challenge being in the B’s. They held their own in every game and won their fair share. As the season progressed the girls started to learn their positions on the field found the ones, they liked which improved their play.
Annaliese: Played many different positions and her passing and ball control improved throughout the season. Power on her kicks improved as well. Same as previous years was always ready to play and train and had a great attitude every week.
Briar: Unfortunately missed some games after breaking her wrist but scored some great goals and her determination to take the ball upfield and was great to see.
Beatrix: Bertie led our defence with her determination to stop the ball getting through. Bertie chased everything and never gave up even if some of the other kids were bigger than her.
Edie: Edie fitted into various positions throughout the year and always tried hard. Edie lacks confidence as is a much better player than she thinks she is but she is improving and growing in confidence each year.
Mikayla: The other integral part of our defence. Mikayla enjoys defence and her partnership with Bearty at the back. When Mikayla is focussed on the game she is hard to get past.
Isabel: Izzy was our goal scorer and has definitely found her spot at the front with her ball skills, speed and goal shooting. Looking for more goals next year.
Leah: Leah is like a terrier on the field who chases everything and never gives up on anything. Leah is also a great goalkeeper and has the best throw I have every seen from an 8 year old.
Avalon: Avi lacked some confidence early in the season but came out of her shell and played some great games. Avi has a very powerful kick and fitted into various positions in the field really well.
Annabelle: Annabelle was the centrepiece of our team playing in the middle most of the season but if needed filled in really well in either defence or striker. Annabelle has good skills and was unlucky not to score more goals during the season.
April: This was April’s first season and she did really well playing mainly in defence with her powerful kick and also in midfield. Scored a great goal from halfway with that powerful kick which surprised her more than the rest of the team and parents.
Thank you to the Nathan Gibson and the other fathers who helped out when I missed some games due to work commitments.
Thank you to Emily who kept us organised during the year with updates on game locations, times and who was doing the fruit.
Finally, thanks to all the parents who made coaching easy for me and the great support you gave the girls.
