W9E-1 Season Report
W09E(1) Yearbook Report
What a fantastic season!! The W09E-1 girls played amazing all year and had an incredible record winning 13 games and playing out 2 hard fought draws. Their defence was extraordinary, only conceding 4 goals all year!!
The girls all improved their skills significantly over the course of the year but more importantly, they had a lot of fun and formed many new friendships. They really enjoyed the competition and are all looking forward to the challenge of moving up to the bigger fields next year.
THE TEAM
Aurora “Rory” Atkins – This was Aurora’s first season at the Eagles and she fit right in from the very first training session. An out-an-out team player who would do anything for the team, always giving 110%. Great work Rory!!
Kinsley “Kinny” Duck – Kinsley was playing up an age level and had to deal with some girls that were twice her size but that didn’t stop her!! She scored some amazing goals and was a constant threat up front, often scoring the match winner. Amazing job Kinny!!
Elva “Elle” Gordon – Elva came in super excited to finally be playing in an all-girls team! She was a huge problem up front for opposing defences and scored some great game winning goals for the team. Well done Elle!!
Adysen “Ady” Leedham – Adysen played amazing all year and could always be counted on to give it her all. She loved playing on the wing, clocking up a heap of metres each match and providing great passes to our strikers. Super effort Ady!!
Zahli “Zah” Leedham – Zahli was our middle back and her defence was absolutely rock solid all year. She was ice cold under pressure and her defensive skills gave other team’s forwards nightmares. Zahli also managed to get on the scoresheet with a memorable goal. Fantastic work Zah!!
Emma “Em” Marr – Emma was our rookie who got better and better with each game. She was an amazing team mate who steadily built her confidence throughout the year, culminating into some great performances. Excellent work Em!!
Addison “Schafe” Schafer – Addison had a superb year playing up front where she scored countless goals. Opposing teams had no answers for her lightning quick speed and super skilful play. She also provided great corner kicks. Outstanding season Schafe!!
Quilla “Quill” Tomlin – Another one of our girls who was playing up an age group. Quilla didn’t take a backward step all year. She never stopped running and was super reliable wherever she played, either scoring goals up front or stopping them at the back. Terrific effort Quill!!
Ebony “Ebs” Vickery – Ebony gave it her all in every game she played in. She was amazing when in goals and made some really great saves. Ebony could play any position and was always on the ball, harassing the other team. Wonderful work Ebs!!
THE COACH
Skye Schafer – Skye did an awesome job to run training every week and keep the girls focused on what they needed to do to get better. She made it her mission to improve the skills of every girl in the team and it’s fair to say she succeeded. Skye also provided lots of encouragement from the sideline on gamedays and gave many inspiring half time speeches to help the girls get the win. Thanks Skye!!
THE MANAGER
Troy Leedham – Troy was our manager who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure all of the little things were taken care of. He also ran game day substitutions and was given the very important task of awarding the player of the match each week. Thanks Troy!!
THE SUPPORTERS
Finally, a huge thank you to the parents, families and friends who supported the girls all year and helped make it a memorable season. Also, a big shout out to everyone who provided half time fruit and assisted with ground duty.
