12D Season Report
The U12D team started the season without even knowing one another’s names. They learned to play as a team, trusting their teammates, and holding positions. This allowed them to get all the way to the Grand Finals and finish as Runner-Ups. Here is the U12D team:
Morgan: the main goal scorer, Morgan was an excellent leader from being a player to also being my assistant manager. Morgan’s speed was incredible and could run faster than most players on the pitch
Alex: Alex was the more attacking midfielder with great skill on the ball and always pushing our team to attack and pressuring the oppositions defence.
Mathew: Mathew was the skilful trickster down the left wing, he could travel down the wing with ease beating every player who tries to tackle him. Mathew would talk tactics with me and was the first person to put his word in with what we should do every game
Lachie: Lachie was a burst of energy up front and always lifted the boys with his work ethic, throughout the season we saw Lachie make a big impact in between the sticks and made his presence felt in the goalkeeper position
Ryan: Ryan on the wing, he took his footy skills to the soccer pitch running through everyone with 100% power
Atikhun: (DD) was the powerhouse in midfield, what he did throughout the season wasn’t shown on the score sheets but his work ethic was unmatched, chasing after every loose ball and winning most
Lyle: Lyle was a passionate soccer fan throughout the season, wanting to play any position where he could help the team, putting the team first at all times
Ben: The energy ben brough along was incredible. Ben played faster than anyone on the field. The fastest on our team leading the line in all of our training laps around the oval and never getting tired
Patrick: Patrick wins my most improved award, noticing drastic improvements every week. listening to what I have to say every week at training and showed he listened with his performances on Saturday
Liam: Liam was a versatile player throughout, playing CM some games but really thriving and finding his position in the heart of the defence
Nate: Nate was the rock at the back, shutting down the team’s offence with his incredible knowledge of the game and his ability to read the game
Micah: Micah was a reliable right back throughout the season. Micah was a no-nonsense player with the his big boot any chance he got he would boot the ball back in to the oppositions half
Kieran: Kieran was an attacking threat no matter where I played him, RM LM ST it did not matter, Kieran would play 100% and with his ability to hit the ball so sweetly he nailed a goal from far out, goal of the season!
Riley: Riley’s energy when he played was unmatched, always playing 100% and never running out of steam.
Raf: Raf started as a RM at the start of the season, noticing Raf’s ability on defensive end I dropped him back as a RB and Raf excelled in the defence and bolstered his defensive line
Casey: Casey played with his heart week in week out, another player we could rely on in goal, playing all positions along the back line I could always rely on Casey to play anywhere
Ollie: Ollies ability to read the game was top tier. Cancelling out the other team’s best strikers most games and causing nuisance for the attack to do anything
