6K Season Report
The boys had a great season, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of kids to coach. For all of them, it was their first time playing in a proper competition format and despite some initial nerves in our first game, they grew in confidence individually and as a team as the season progressed. While we had a few tough games, the boys always gave it their all each week and were rewarded with some well-deserved wins. It was very rewarding to watch how much they each developed and improved over the course of the season, and they should each be very proud of their achievements. I hope to see them all back playing again next season.
The team:
Archie – A great teammate with solid skills, he had a great game in our season opener to be our inaugural Player of the Match winner. Archie has lots of talent and will be even stronger next season.
Axel – Despite being one of the youngest and smallest on the field, he was never afraid to go in hard for the ball or shy away from a challenge. A natural striker with a powerful shot, he could score from anywhere and often did, scoring some amazing goals throughout the season.
Cruz – Always turned up excited and keen to play. His energy was infectious, and his presence always lifted the team. Solid in both attack and defence, if he wasn’t saving goals, he was busy creating chances for teammates or scoring them himself.
Harry – A prolific goal scorer, Harry had a great season. Always busy in attack, creating lots of chances and regularly slicing the opposition defence to ribbons before racing away to score.
Sonny – A great defender with a big clearing kick, you could always rely on him to be at the back defending. Was always having fun and giving it his all, he quickly integrated himself into the team making several new friendships along the way.
Theo C – For his first time playing, he did really well and was never afraid to go in and challenge for the ball. Theo slowly grew in confidence and belief as the season progressed, turning in some great personal performances along the way.
Theodore H – A great defender with speed to burn. Theodore saved countless goals during the season, using his speed to race back in defence and defend our goal. He was also able to score a few goals as well with one being right on the final whistle against Como which helped give the team the win.
I’d also like to thank Adam Logan for managing the team and for his help throughout the season. Finally, a big thankyou to all the parents for all your help and support, making it to the training sessions, the gala night and all the early morning starts to cheer the boys on. It was greatly appreciated.
