W40B Season Report

After winning the W40B Grand Final in 2024 we knew that we might be treading in different water this season. It turned out that we weren’t too far wrong and our competition this year had become a mixed A/B Comp. We were fortunate enough to be one of the B teams but it still made for a tough season.

Having said that, there wasn’t a single “A” team that could walk all over us, we put up a great contest every time we played and always made the opposition work for it.

Unfortunately, this year we did cop our fair share of injuries, some of which were season ending for a couple of the girls and some games they walked off the field as if they had actually been to war (special mention to Trudy!) But even when this happened, they still never gave up.

Even after all the injuries we still only narrowly missed out on another Grand Final by going down 1-0 in the Final, and for that I am so proud of all the girls.

The reality is, that this team is made up of Mums, who work all day, feed the household, get the kids ready for school, do the washing and still make it out in the cold each Wednesday night for training, then on the weekends make sure the kids get to sport, put their Family first and still manage to find time for themselves to get on the park and play Soccer, and the whole time doing it with a smile !

Thanks to our Manager Belinda for looking after us and thanks to all the ladies who made it another great season. I hope you all enjoyed it and I look forward to seeing you back next year.
