The Engadine Eagles Under 9D team ought to be proud of their achievements in 2020.

At the beginning of the season we held three simple values which served us well throughout the year.

These values were that one person is to talk at a time, secondly we respect each other and thirdly and most importantly, we have fun.

With an active and talkative bunch of boys the first of those rules presented challenges from time to time. However, I commend the boys for the respect they showed each other, their coaches and parents during the year.

The boys are also to be commended for playing the game in the right spirit, win lose or draw. It is fair to say that we all had fun!!

Thank you to Lucy for her management of the team. Lucy’s weekly awards and lollies were enthusiastically embraced after each game.

Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings are already feeling quiet. Thank you to all the parents for your support during training and on game day. I have appreciated your company and the trust you have afforded me in being coach.

While it can be a juggling task managing each boy into their favoured position, not once did I receive negative feedback about a boy not getting a fair go. Thank you.

Finally and to the boys, you are a great bunch. I admire the way you never give in, no matter what the score. You won more games than lost and that is because you are a super team. Good luck with your soccer careers and best wishes for your future.

Oh, and don’t forget, the Dad’s & Mum’s won the game at our last training session.
