2026 Season Report

16C-1 Season Report

This year, the team started off strong with only a 2-1 loss to the would-be undefeated Premiers and could have easily come away with a result. With so many new players in the team, this was a positive start to the season! There were some highs and lows that followed, but in the end, the boys just missed out on a semi final spot, after a string of draws. However, only 4 losses out of 16 games was a great achievement!

The boys gelled well on and off the field and always had lots of fun, which is what playing team sport is always about!

Much of the awesome possession, defence and attacking skills on display this year have been due to the team’s commitment to each other, to their improvement as players, and to the guidance of their amazing coach Mick Riley.

It makes us very proud to see how you conduct yourselves as young men – caring about each other and your opponents, caring about sportsmanship and the way the game should be played. It has been a pleasure to help you this season and I hope we can see you all back next year!

Thanks to all the boys for a great year and to everyone else that stepped in to help over the season. It has been, as always, a privilege to coach.
