What an outstanding season it has been for the Engadine Eagles Under 8A boys!

The boys finished the season with winning their majority of games losing to just two teams across the entire season. (Plus Bonnet Bay but we’ve forgotten that one) We scored an impressive 54 goals, while conceding just 40. Every player contributed all year and all scored goals.

The improvement from our very first training session and match has been huge. We started the season as a bunch of talented individuals, but as the season progressed, we grew into a team that played for each other, supported each other and celebrated each other’s success. Watching that transformation has been one of the highlights of the season.

Player Reports

Leo

Leo plays every game with incredible heart and passion. He is tenacious in defence and never gives up on a contest. Leo also takes the prize for our best goal celebrations, with his famous full-length-of-the-field airplane celebrations becoming a highlight for everyone!

Ewan

Ewan is the ultimate all-rounder. He has shown he can make an impact at both ends of the field, scoring some fantastic goals while also pulling off some great saves when called upon. A true team player who can always be relied upon.

Harley

Harley has been an absolute brick wall in defence. His ability to read the game and make important passes to set up our attacks has been a huge part of our success this season. And he has some great footwork, also bagged a few nice goals of his own!

Wade

Wade has shown just how versatile he is, playing in any position the team needed him to. He has some fantastic dribbling skills and showed great composure when he scored a winning goal in a tight game. Wade is also always one of the first to celebrate with his teammates, making sure he is right there when someone scores.

Koa

Koa has some fantastic dribbling skills and an ability to leave opposition players wondering which way he is going to go next! He has shown great confidence with the ball at his feet and scored some nice long-range goals throughout the season.

Jayden

Jayden has been a fantastic goalkeeper, making some incredible saves and helping us keep some important clean sheets along the way. His goalkeeping skills have at times rivalled those of Premier League keepers! And when he isn’t in goals, his venomous left foot is always a weapon.

Cuba

Cuba has speed to burn, regularly leaving opposition players in his wake. His dribbling and skill work have been fantastic to watch, and he never forgets his defensive responsibilities, always working hard to track back and help the team. He also found the back of the net plenty of times this season.

Hunter

Hunter has been a fantastic midfielder, always looking to push forward and support the attack before turning on the speed to get back and help out in defence. He has shown some lovely passing skills and has been an important part of helping the team move the ball around the field. Joint players player.

Jett

Jett leading goal scorer for the season, regularly finding the back of the net and bagging multiple hat tricks along the way. But his biggest strength is his ability to read and understand the game. His vision and passing have been top level, with some real wizardry when putting balls through to teammates and setting up goals. Joint players player.

Overall, we have absolutely loved coaching this group of boys. The improvement hasn’t just been in their football. Watching their friendships develop, seeing them support each other, celebrate each other’s successes and build strong values as a group of young boys has been the real highlight of the season.

That is exactly why you put your hand up to coach.

We couldn’t be prouder of every one of them. What an outstanding season from an outstanding group of boys. Go Eagles!

Thanks

Jason and Dan
