At the beginning of the season the boys were in the U6E division, where the boys faced some tough and very tall opposition. Despite their enthusiasm and effort, a number of significant losses led to the team being regraded into the U6G division.

Each week at training Coach Claire somehow managed the impossible task off controlling the chaos of 7 under 6 boys to teach them ball control, skills and teamwork.

The boys improved remarkably as the session went on. They learned to spread out, look at the player that was kicking in, how to work as a team and not take the ball from each other and which goal they were trying to score in, which could sometimes be a bit confusing after half time. Most importantly, they never gave up, regardless of the scoreline. Every week they arrived full of energy and excitement ready to play. They were even sad when games were rained out.

What was truly great about their team, is that they were a great team. There was no single star player, everyone got their turn and a chance to shine. Seeing every player contribute in their own way was one of the highlights of the season.
