What a fun season we’ve had!

What a team! Our W09Bs trained hard, played hard, learned plenty and had a lot of fun along the way. They delivered a solid season!

Across the season we’ve watched them become smarter footballers. Learning to spread out, trust their positions, look for the pass, defend with patience and work together across the field. As coach, I handed out countless awards recognising our ‘Space Agents’, ‘Diamond Defenders’ and ‘Golden Pass’ combos. We’ve had big wins, tough losses, muddy games, brilliant goals, crossbar heartbreaks, insane goal-saving and plenty of chaos, and through it all they’ve grown into the brilliant team of mates they are today.

Behind the girls is a stellar support crew. Our parents have clocked up countless lifts to training and games, captured the action from the sidelines, done the pizza runs and provided a full network of support all season. A huge thank you for all the assistance!

Our manager Mon who is exceptional as always. Calm, organised and endlessly helpful, somehow keeping everything moving despite the chaos we bring and a coach who somehow manages to throw the team awards down a drain! We are incredibly lucky to have you Mon!

These 10 girls are competitive, funny, determined and always entertaining. They’ve challenged themselves, supported each other and become better footballers along the way – couldn’t be prouder of this team!

Amelia

Amelia never backs down from a challenge. She’s fierce, focused and a quick learner who gives everything to whatever job she’s handed.

A natural defender, she’s brilliant at shutting down attacks and holding her ground under pressure. But this year she’s shown there’s plenty more to her game! Getting forward, combining with teammates and finding the goal herself.

Protecting goals, setting them up and scoring her own – Amelia has done it all this season.

Edie

Edie has discovered the joy of playing on the wing this year and really made the position her own.

Her game awareness has come a long way, knowing when to push forward, when to chase back and confidently directing her teammates at throw-ins.

There’s no forgetting her brilliant hat-trick against Kirawee, fighting hard for each one, alongside some huge defensive efforts when the team needed them. Fearless little creature, with a remarkable way of weaving in and out around defenders to make her way to goal!

A big year for our youngster, Edie.

Elly

What a cracking season from Elly!

She brings a lightning bolt of energy to every game and has taken on just about every position with enthusiasm and the skill to match.

When Elly is on a mission, everyone knows about it. Her drive to win the ball and stay involved produced some fantastic performances, including an outstanding game against Grays Point capped off with two brilliant goals.

That enthusiasm and drive are a huge part of Elly’s game, and we’ve loved it.

Emily

“Girls can do anything!”

Emily is a cracker on the field and permanently in play mode.

She fights hard for the ball, holds attackers up and refuses to give up on a contest. She’s embraced defensive positions this year and become very good at holding her ground and making life difficult for anyone trying to get past her.

Tough, determined and always ready to get amongst it, particularly if there’s a muddy field involved!

Izzy

Izzy brings plenty to W09Bs and not just with her game. We get the full weekend activity highlights, excellent bench chats and a trademark thumbs-up from the field.

She’s one of our biggest cheerleaders, but she’s also delivered some cracking football moments herself. Her first-touch finish against Kirawee was exactly the kind of play we’d been practicing, and her goal against Como secured our first win of the season.

When Izzy switches on, she makes a huge impact, and she always brings plenty of personality with it.

Belle

Belle has amazed us all with her goalkeeping this season.

Her reaction time is exceptional and she commits completely to every save. The most memorable for me was the backwards twist to somehow recover a ball that looked destined for the net over her head – still not sure how she did it Even opposition supporters have noticed just how talented she is between the posts.

Belle plays a fierce defensive game out on the field too and gives her best wherever she’s needed.

If her love of goalkeeping continues, I hope I’m there to see her in action over the years!

Lara

Lara can genuinely do it all.

Two outstanding goals one week; goalkeeper gloves and a clean sheet the next, with fearless run-out saves and a brilliant defensive performance to back it up. Her versatility, game awareness and terrific footwork mean she looks comfortable just about anywhere.

And when she scored her two back-to-back goals against Grays Point at Anzac, both were quickly dedicated to Mum, who was off being incredible herself, running a marathon! Reminding the team with her dedication “Girls can do anything!”

Skill, confidence, style and heart – that’s Lara.

Olivia

Our striker extraordinaire!

Olivia loves the game and is always hungry for the next attacking opportunity. She combines brilliantly with the players around her, but give her some open space and she’s just as happy making the run to goal herself – another season of endless goals delivered!

She also showed real leadership when the team faced one of its toughest games of the season, digging deep, reading the play and helping drive the girls to fight their way back into the contest.

Keep bringing that competitive energy Olivia because there will be plenty more goal-scoring moments in your soccer life!

Phia

Phia has had a season of success!

She’s developed into a seriously strong goalkeeper, combining quick reactions with increasingly confident positioning and fearless early run-outs. In some high-pressure games she has produced save after save against the odds.

She’s taken that same confidence into defence, chasing down attackers, shutting down shots and putting the jockeying skills we’ve worked on into action.

Phia brings serious competitive energy to W09B. She is a force.

Zahli

Zahli is one of those players you can rely on to make an impact at both ends of the field.

She has the speed and determination to drive forward, but she’ll also chase all the way back to shut down an attack before turning around and going again.

Zahli scored our very first goal of the season and closed us out with an absolute screamer from the wing in our final game,  with plenty of huge efforts and Golden Pass combinations in between.

She plays with a quiet competitive drive that’s contagious. Keep it up, Zahli!

Well done W09Bs on a fantastic 2026 season!
