I have struggled to put pen to paper this year to sum up to you all the meaning of this team.

We started off the year with a few new recruits — Ellen, Jordan and Gemma — the return of Jesse from maternity leave, and a new team grading that had us all wondering what the season was going to bring.

What we probably didn’t realise at the time was just how much this season would test us, challenge us, and ultimately bring us closer together.

There have been plenty of highs, plenty of lows, questionable decisions from the referee, questionable decisions from ourselves, and of course, plenty of sideline “Mick” comments!!

But somewhere along the way, this group of legends became so much more than just a soccer team. We became a team that turned up for each other — on the field, on the sideline, at training, and probably most importantly, at the post-match celebrations- absolutely do we know how to bring the party!!

Every player has contributed something different this year. Whether it was the goals, the saves, the tackles, the assists, the encouragement, the laughs, or simply being there when someone needed a lift, every single one of you has played a part in making this team what it is.

There have been moments this season where things certainly didn’t go to plan, moments that changed the way the season ended and moments that shouldn’t have happened!! However we made the grand final and for a bunch of old ducks with some young blood in between, we didn’t do too bad!!

I’m incredibly proud of every single one of you and so grateful to have shared another season with this team. So, to the 2026 season — thank you for the memories, the laughs, the chaos and, the absolute pleasure.
