Coaching our W07G Girls this season has been an absolute privilege. With Elva, Sasha, Emily, Harriet, Chloe and Isabelle already close friends at school, there was a fantastic team spirit from day one. Their friendships created a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone felt part of the group. If I’m honest, I’m still not sure whether that was a blessing or a curse! At training especially, they knew how to push each other’s buttons and were easily distracted by chatting when they were meant to be listening. It certainly kept me on my toes and provided plenty of laughs—and a few tears along the way.

For most of the girls, this was their first season of soccer. The early weeks were a challenge as they learned the basics and built confidence. While things weren’t always easy at the start, they never stopped smiling, encouraging each other and giving their best. Week by week, their progress was outstanding. By the end of the season, they were playing with real confidence, working together and proudly putting their new skills into practice.

What made this team so special wasn’t the scoreboard, but the way they supported one another. They celebrated every goal, tackle and small win together, never losing sight of the most important part—having fun. Their enthusiasm, kindness and sportsmanship made every training session and match a joy to be part of.

To Elva, Sasha, Emily, Harriet, Chloe and Isabelle—thank you for an unforgettable season. Watching you develop as footballers, teammates and friends has been incredibly rewarding. You should all be very proud of how far you’ve come, and I hope this is just the beginning of many years enjoying the beautiful game.

Go Eagles!
