15 games – 14 wins – 1 draw. To say this was a successful season would be an understatement.

The W07F-2 girls showed up from day 1 with full commitment, a willing-to-learn-attitude and an insatiable hunger for goals! With a couple of them playing their first winter season, that’s all I could ask for as their coach.

Our season started in division G, however 56 goals and 5 games later, our team was pushed up into F’s. It didn’t slow us down enough though, and we continued to dominate in the majority of our games, often without subs!

The only disappointment our girls had to deal with this season was when, unfortunately, 3 of our games were cancelled due to wet weather. Somehow we were always the unlucky team whose grounds were closed, which caused a lot of tension in households with multiple players (“why does my brother/sister get to play and I don’t?!?”).

A notable highlight for the girls was the U7’s Gala Day at Dobell Rd and winning the prize of a training session at Seymour Shaw Stadium with a Sutherland Sharks FC Coach.

It was great pleasure to watch these young ladies come together and form a fantastic team, playing for each other every week while growing as individual players. Apart from improving their soccer skills week by week, they also formed tight friendships and built great sportsmanship!

Each of them was a valued member of the Eagles W07F-2 and has contributed equally to the success of this season – together they scored an impressive 99 goals ( plus one bloody terrific own goal so let’s make it 100! ) and they can be so incredibly proud of themselves!

Aria D

Impressing everyone from the get go with amazing tackling skills, leaving opponents behind with both eyes on the prize – Aria had no trouble finding the back of the net!

Jana B

Scoring goals is on Jana’s agenda every week – wether it’s a dribble from one end to the other, or a cracker shot from halfway. Some amazing assists came off her foot as well!

Marley P

Solid defense when needed, dribbling up and scoring, and always being in the right spot at the right time – Marley has a great understanding of the game, and always a smile on her face!

Tia T

Not a doubt in my mind, Tia is the person for every penalty kick – cool, calm, collected sending the ball at enormous speed. That’s how she scored our most impressive goals this season!

Ziggy H

Flipping a switch early in the season, there was no stopping Ziggy from scoring goal after goal after she got a taste for it. Defending or attacking – she’s comfortable anywhere on the pitch!
