Team: Ava, Cara, Ella, Ellery, Lola, Zoey

Coach: Ranald Weir

Manager: Mel Pearce

What another great year. The team that started in the W6Bs and progressed to the As were back together for another season of fun, hard work and a little bit of silliness! Having worked together so well before, it was nice to have the 6 girls of Ava, Cara, Ella, Ellery, Lola and Zoey playing together to continue their development of both their football skills and their friendships. It was also nice to have the same parents to enjoy the experience with… and to not have to change our whatsapp group either!

Over the course of the year, I was very pleased with how well the girls worked together both at training and during the games. They always showed up with smiles on their faces and were willing to work with each other to make their experience a fun one. Highlights for me as coach were how well they took on board what we practiced in training into the games. Their silky passing Spain style, their fast and flowing attack like the French and their dogged defense like the Argentinians all the while having the camaraderie of the Matildas.

Individually, each girl developed more and more as the season went on. Each of them grew in their understanding of the game and were able to apply this with their skills on the pitch. This was highlighted by a parent from an opposing team coming up to compliment the team work of the girls and how well they passed to, and worked for, each other.

Thanks for a great year and I hope you all enjoy your football experience for a long time to come.

Well done girls!
