This season we concentrated on playing as a team and learning to trust each other to get the job done.

We worked on finding space, connecting passes together and helping each other both on and off the ball.

It was great to see the work we did at training unfold on the field and result in some very good goals and team play.

We also had plenty of fun – we brought music to training and there was plenty of fun and dancing and even an impromptu fancy dress competition at training on several occasions.

I also really appreciated that many players each week stayed back after the normal training was finished to lend a hand in some additional goalie training to help our volunteer goalies increase their skillset. Thankyou all for that.

Amongst the stressful moments and mini heart attacks on the sideline, the girls also brought plenty of laughs, energy and enthusiasm and represented Engadine Eagles FC proudly every week.

We finished 3rd on the table for the regular season.

We then won our semi final and made the Final where put the minor premiers under a lot of pressure with some great teamwork but unfortunately we fell just short in that game going down 2-3. It was a nail biter.

3rd place for the season is a wonderful result after a fun filled season and everyone should be extremely proud.

It’s been a real pleasure coaching this team again and watching the girls further develop their skills both individually and as a team.
